METAL TILE PANEL ROOFING SOLVES TOWERING CHALLENGE FOR SAN DIEGO HIGH-RISE CONDOMINIUM When Dikeakos and Cotter Architects (Vancouver, BC) started planning Park Place, a new luxury condominium and town home development destined to be one of the most prominent buildings in San Diego, they created a design with a strong Mission flavor that reflects the local architectural tradition. A key exterior feature of the 30-story building is a steep-sloped tile roof that covers the upper tower portion of the building where mechanical equipment and service rooms are housed. The use of a metal “tile panel” roofing system manufactured by Met-Tile, Inc. (Ontario, Calif.) provided the desired Mission look while overcoming weight, installation and safety concerns. CAMP RANDALL STADIUM LOOKS TO INPRO SYSTEMS AS PART OF MAJOR RENOVATION Nearly a mile and a half of JointMaster architectural expansion joint and fire-barrier systems will be installed in a major renovation and build up of historic Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The InPro systems are part of a $110 million, multi-year renovation project to completely revamp Camp Randall, including improvements to all the seating sections and a new athletic office building. A DIVINE EXPANSION AND RENOVATION TURNS TO BENCHMARK ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS FOR A CONTEMPORARY REVELATION The First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, North Carolina had a wake-up call recently. Their congregation had outgrown the original sanctuary building and they needed to expand their preschool and Sunday School programs, church offices and approximately half of the area needed to support those church programs. And so, a decision was made during a Master Planning Phase led by the original architectural team of Stephens & Francis, p.a. to build a new fellowship hall, able to accommodate 250 diners with necessary support space, renovate remaining structures, and expand existing offices, educational facilities and the music department.
