Inigo Johnson, AIA, as he did early everyTuesday morning, was driving to visit the Morgan House, which was under construction. He knew that the framing would be well under way and he had a definite detailed mental image of what to expect. When he arrived, however, it didn’t look right. Something was seriously wrong with the location of the dining room window. He quickly parked, grabbed a roll of construction drawings and his clipboard from the rear seat, and walked briskly to the house.

WELLS FARGO JAPANESE GARDEN PRESERVED BY WESTERN ROOFING SERVICE, A TECTA AMERICA COMPANY
The Wells Fargo Bank Headquarters building is located in the heart of the financial district in downtown San Francisco. The maintenance staff had coped with leaks in the buildings’ penthouse roofs, for a number of years. A source of some leaks was a roof membrane under a Japanese garden designed by the notable California landscape architectural firm RHAA, of Mill Valley and San Francisco, Calif.
